Green Earth Baking Supports Washington Fire Fighters Burn Foundation with $1,000 Donation

Franz Bakery Supports Ronald McDonald House Charities With Donation of More Than $1,800

PORTLAND, Ore. – March 9, 2010 – Franz Bakery, the largest independent, family-owned bakery on the West Coast, has donated more than $1,800 to the Portland-area Ronald McDonald House Charities. The two local houses, in Oregon and Southwest Washington, will use the gift from Franz to support the organization’s facilities and activities.

To raise money, Franz sold wide pan bread loaves and packages of cookies for one dollar each at the Northwest Women’s Show in Portland. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event’s bread and cookie sale went directly to the organization.

Franz Bakery Name a 2009 "Save Energy Now Champion" Plant by the U.S. Department of Energy

PORTLAND, Ore. – December 2, 2009 – Franz Bakery, the largest independent, family-owned bakery on the West Coast, has received an Energy Champion award for achieving more than 250,000 million Btu total energy savings or more than 15 percent total energy savings at its facility in Portland, Ore. To receive this recognition, Franz Bakery completed a Save Energy Now energy assessment with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) in 2008.

Franz Family Bakeries Raises Over $1,000 For Medical Research

SEATTLE, Wash. – October 2, 2009 – Franz Bakery, the largest independent, family-owned bakery on the West Coast, will send a team of 70 men and women to participate in City of Hope’s “Walk For Hope” taking place October 4th in Seattle. This is the fourth year that Franz has participated in the national family-oriented, noncompetitive walk that raises millions of dollars each year to support breast cancer research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope.
