PORTLAND, Ore. – July 28, 2009 – Franz Bakery, the largest independent, family-owned bakery on the West Coast, recently installed a Catalytic Oxidizer at its Portland Bakery on May 15th. The Oxidizer was put in place to remove an estimated 95-percent of all ethanol emissions from bakery operations.

PORTLAND, Ore. –- April 23, 2009 – Franz Bakery, the largest independent, family-owned bakery on the West Coast, recently donated a total of $5,000 to four local charities. The Ronald McDonald Houses in Seattle received a generous gift of $3,500. The remaining three, The Pacific NW Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association (SGNA), “Pat’s Heart” The National Foundation for Transplants and Sherie Hildreth Ovarian Cancer (SHOC) Foundation, each received $500. The charities will use the gifts from Franz to support their organization’s facilities and activities.

Franz Family Bakeries is happy to inform our customers that all our Franz products are safe for consumption and that we are NOT recalling any products in connection with the recent salmonella outbreak, which involves peanut products manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), Blakely, Georgia.

Our peanut butter is solely purchased from Golden Boy Foods. Golden Boy is located in Canada and does not use any peanut products from Peanut Corporation of America's.

BOISE – Girls on the Run, Idaho (“GOTR”) announced they received a $4,446.00 contribution from Franz Family Bakery that was raised by selling their premium wide pan breads during the St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration Women’s Show on September 18th and 19th.
